I wouldn't call myself a pizza snob, but I do have one hard, fast rule when it comes to judging how good a pizza slice is.

To properly judge how good a restaurant's pizza is, I believe very strongly that you judge it on their plain slice.

I want to taste the sauce and cheese, and I don't want that taste interfered with by sausage, pepperoni, chicken, meatballs, or peppers and onions masking the basic flavor.

I can't choose between my two favorite pizzerias for a great slice, so I'm going to split my choices up into two regions. They are the Jersey Shore and inland.

Inland - I have found this amazing little pizzeria in Monroe called Tomato Pies, and you need to take a bite of their plain slice. You'll fall in love with it.
