How Much Do New Jersey’s Teachers Get Paid?
Patch put together an eye-opening list of NJ's highest-paid teachers and administrators.
A decade ago, very few teachers made six figures, but now nearly 5,000 are being paid a salary of $100,00 or more.
I feel a bit weird posting the names along with their salaries, but if you're interested you can follow the link. Here are the schools along with the pay, names redacted.
- Joseph C Shaner Memorial Elementary School - $168,585
- Northern Valley Regional High School - $163,213
- Garfield Early Childhood Learning Center - $150,967
- Passaic Gifted and Talented Academy School No 20 - $148,370
- E.H Slaybaugh Elementary School - $145,990
- Ross Street Elementary School - $143,513
- Hopewell Valley Central High School - $142.919
- Menlo Park Terrace Elementary School - $142,029
- Passaic Gifted and Talented Academy School No 20 - $141,707
- River Dell Regional High School - $141,265
Most of these numbers seem to be for school administrators, not regular teachers. In 2016-2017, the average salary for teachers, librarians, guidance counselors and other non-administrative staff totaled $70,637.
