Seaview Orthopaedics Girls Basketball Week 9 Player of the Week

Jackson Memorial made a serious run at the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinals, but came up a little short in a round-of-16 loss to Class A South division rival Toms River North.
Maffei did her part in her team’s two-game stay in the tournament, scoring 26 points and grabbing seven rebounds in a first-round win over Howell, then putting up a 24-and-7 line in the loss at Toms River North.
This week, Maffei just missed out on a double-double (nine points and 14 rebounds) in a Jackson Memorial win over Toms River North that clinched the Jaguars a share of the Shore Conference Class A South division championship.
The Week 9 Girls Player of the Week Contest came down to three players with at least 19 percent of the vote. Maffei won with 29 percent, while Shore's Rylee Drahos edged Toms River East's Lizzie Gillen for the second-most votes. As the latest Seaview Orthopaedics Player of the Week in girls basketball for the 2021-22 season, Maffei will be awarded a $25 gift card to Jersey Mike's.
