Galloway man busted for operating meth lab in Stafford home

Stafford Township Police needed to call in backup and other resources including the Berkeley Hazmat Team to a home in the Warren Grove section after receiving reports of suspicious activity and then learning on scene the man inside was operating a meth lab.

Officers responded to the Grays Road home Sunday night around 5:00 pm and shortly thereafter, the Stafford Police DEU, Ocean County Narcotic's Strike Force Unit, OCPO Detectives and OCSO's K-9 Unit followed joined them on scene and then the Hazmat team, Warren Grove Fire Department Station 38, Stafford EMS Squad 38 as well as other arson and police units.

When the appropriate agencies deemed the home safe and not hazardous, Stafford Police said that Detectives recovered several types of CDS at the home along with some unidentified pills.

At that point, 37-year old John B. Sharpe of Galloway, who was was placed in handcuffs for a warrant out of his hometown, was charged for running the meth lab in Stafford specifically on the charges of 3rd degree Possession of Methamphetamine, 3rd degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, 3rd degree Possession of Heroin, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia including numerous digital scales and plastic baggies and Possession of numerous hypodermic syringes for the use of CDS.

Depending on the results of lab analysis on the pills found at the scene, Stafford Police said that Sharpe could face additional charges.

Sharpe is in the Ocean County Jail and has an upcoming court appearance pending in OC Superior Court.
