The first Monmouth Hawk to be selected to a Major League Baseball All-Star Game and MU Hall of Famer Brad Brach has been signed by the Mets.

Brach was drafted by the Padres in 2008 and made his MLB debut in 2011. He was traded back to the East Coast, landing with the Orioles in 2013. He was traded to the Braves in 2018, and signed a one-year contract with the Cubs for 2019.

The Cubs released Brach on August 6th, and just two days later the Mets swooped in and picked him up, grabbing a solid bullpen arm for the final stretch of a season where the Mets are within reach of a playoff spot.

I'm a Yankee fan, but I still wish the best to a fellow MU alum!
