Just a few days ago, the ShopRite in Manchester announced that an employee had tested positive for the coronavirus. Since then, stores in Howell and Manahawkin have announced the same thing, and the company has revealed that employees at at least TWENTY-FOUR stores across New Jersey have gotten sick.

The following stores have announced at least one confirmed case:

Three stores have reported having suspected cases of the virus: Hillside, Little Falls, and Sparta.

Due to privacy laws, the stores cannot name the employees, but they stress that the employees are no longer working, that coworkers who were in close contact are asked to self-quarantine, and affected stores have been deep-cleaned.

Grocery store workers are exposed to countless people every day, so it was only a matter of time before we heard about a surge in cases like this. This is perfect evidence of why you need to sanitize your groceries when you get home and why you should wear a mask and gloves.
