Vibrant Christmas Lights are Shining Bright in Spring Lake, NJ
There are a few things that happen around this time of year that can instantly put me in the holiday spirit. I get it, this is going to be very obvious to most but we'll see if we're on the same page with a few of these.
Usually the non-stop barrage of Christmas movies. I mean, as soon as you stumble upon that first Christmas movie, you're in it. Right? Although I do have to say, I look forward to twenty-four hours of a Christmas Story. That's usually the very last Christmas movie you may watch for the season. Unless you are watching through New Years Day.
Another thing that can happen and I'm instantly ready for the holidays, that first snow. I don't know what it is, but associate the season with the holidays. I guess that goes hand in hand.
Finally, Christmas lights! Yes, Christmas lights will instantly put me in such a better mood. You may be in this group, but as soon as Thanksgiving is over, it's just great to see the first lights pop up in the neighborhood. I wish we were that family but we are very last minute. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting here thinking, "wow, we should put our tree up." Oh, and know what I have been noticing more of, multi-color lights. I don't know when this trend started, but way too many people have been decorating their homes with plain (and trees), with white, boring, lights. We saw a tree in a window the other day that was vibrant with blues, reds, oranges, pink lights. Now THAT is how you Christmas.
The one thing my family and I love about Christmas lights, you can just leave your house and admire them from a sidewalk, the street, or even creepily stopping the car to admire someone else's work. Well, we did just that.
We took a small drive up the road to Spring Lake. We heard how amazing the light displays were up there, so we needed to see them. Nestled between Sea Girt and Lake Como, Spring Lake is a mixture of high-value real estate, downtown local shopping, and the beach.
