Recently I spent a Saturday on a Cape May County Brewery tour, which included a stop at COHO Brewing Co. in Cape May Court House.

It was one of my favorite stops on the tour, and I am super glad I made it based on the news I recently heard that they are up for sale.

A social media post shows that COHO Brewery is up for sale for the price of $279,000, and is for the business only, not the actual brewery site, which will need to have the lease renegotiated to remain at 28 Indian Trail in Burleigh.

The owners of COHO Brewery Co. did acknowledge this sale with a response to the post saying this was due to several health issues that needed to be addressed.

Bitter sweet feelings from the owner/management of Coho Brewing Co.… While we love what we do and we will certainly miss all our customers who have become our family Coho will continue to produce amazing beers . This is not goodbye in any way. Our tasting room continues to flourish and we will still be taking bookings for your special event . We will continue to stay open and we do not plan on closing. With that being said I am currently having several health issues that I need to address . My health and my family are my first priority. This has been an extremely difficult decision and we aren’t going anywhere meaning we will still be hands on and we will be sticking around during any transition.

I was just at this property two weeks ago and really enjoyed my time there.  It made you feel like you were sitting in a living room with a ton of cool decor throughout the place.

While there is no food due to New Jersey state laws, we did snack on some pretzels from the Hangover Pretzel Company. I had one of their most popular beers called Hazeas Corpus, which is a New England / Hazy IPA. My friends bought a flight of beers, all of which they enjoyed.

I hope that whoever takes over the business keeps it running smoothly and continues to pour some great beers!
