Each week during the 2021-22 season, Shore Sports Network will recognize the top performers in Shore Conference boys basketball and give the SSN readers a chance to pick the top one.

With seven Shore Conference divisions this year instead of six, there will be a Player of the Week in each division, plus three wild cards, giving you a pool of 10 players from which to choose every week.

Read about this week's nominees and vote for the one that strikes you as the best pick for overall Player of the Week. The top vote-getter will receive a $25 gift card to the Turning Point and a long sleeve t-shirt courtesy of Seaview Orthopaedic.

Vote in the poll at the end of the post once per hour until the poll closes at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Class A North Player of the Week

Zach Molod, Marlboro

Jack Seidler was Marlboro’s top scorer last week and Jon Spatola was the WOBM Christmas Classic MVP – keeping with the theme that the All-Shore duo continues to lead Marlboro. Without Molod’s effort, however, Marlboro doesn’t win the WOBM Classic title and remain on top of the Shore Sports Network rankings. Molod scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, in routs of Brick Memorial and Manchester, then came up with 19 big points in the championship win over Red Bank Catholic – including 17 of Marlboro’s 28 points in the first half.

Class A North Honorable Mention: Gabe Blackwell, Manalapan; Jon Spatola, Marlboro; Pat Lautato, CBA; Jack Seidler, Marlboro; Will Bradley, CBA; Mike Bimonte, Manalapan; Jayden Holmes-Cotter, Freehold Twp.; Dylan McVeigh, Howell; Devin Jones, Long Branch; Damien Padilla, Howell; Peter Noble, CBA; Tom Schork, Middletown South

Class A Central Player of the Week

Jack O’Leary, Raritan

After being forced into a 12-day hiatus, Raritan came back Wednesday with another convincing win, this time over Steinert on the road. O’Leary starred in the return to action, scoring a career-high 29 points as the Rockets rolled to a 78-57 win over the Spartans.

Class A Central Honorable Mention: Gioacchino Panzini, Red Bank Catholic; Nick Seeloch, Holmdel; Scott Gyimesi, Rumson-Fair Haven; James Vallillo, Holmdel; Trent Sloan, Rumson-Fair Haven; Alex George, Shore

Class A South Player of the Week

Jaden Anthony, Southern

For the second time in two weeks, a Southern guard is the Class A South Player of the Week. Last week, it was clutch scoring that carried Nick Devane to the recognition and in Anthony’s case, it is the all-around performance. Anthony averaged 12 points, 4.25 rebounds and 6.7 assists in three games at the Score at the Shore Tournament hosted by his school, highlighted by 14 points, four rebounds and eight assists in an eight-point loss to Holy Spirit in the tournament semifinals.

Class A South Honorable Mention: Will Devane, Southern; Keith Adame, Jackson Memorial; Lamir Mitchell, Toms River North

Class B North Player of the Week

Nate Williams, St. John Vianney

While Class A South has a repeat team in its Player of the Week slot, Class B North has a repeat player. Williams is off to as good a start as any player in the conference and his performance in the WOBM Christmas Classic quarterfinals last Monday is one of the best games any player has had at the Shore so far this season. Williams posted 34 points, four assists and five steals in a win over then No. 5 Manasquan and followed it up with two 18-point outings against No. 2 Red Bank Catholic and No. 8 Manchester.

Class B North Honorable Mention: Matt Kenny, Middletown North; Collin Teter, Red Bank; Omar Calderon, St. John Vianney

Class B Central Player of the Week

Jaheim Hill, Keansburg

Without a lot of experience on the roster, Keansburg is having to grow up fast and one player who has been up to the task thus far is Hill. After scoring 11 points in a loss to South River on Tuesday, Hill came back with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to help Keansburg notch its first win of the year – a 74-59 result over South Amboy.

Class B Central Honorable Mention: T.J. Braswell-Brown, Ranney; Isaac Hester, Ranney; Charles Anyichie, Ranney; Mike Alonso, Keansburg

Class B South Player of the Week

Chris Venturoso, Lacey

The Lions got a tough first-round draw at the Buc Holiday Classic in Red Bank and could not keep up with Rumson-Fair Haven. After that, however, Lacey picked up two much-needed victories by knocking off host Red Bank and rallying for a win over Long Branch. Venturoso was a steady contributor along the way, putting up 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss to Rumson, 16 points and six board in the win over Red Bank and 24 points and seven rebounds in the victory over Long Branch.

Class B South Honorable Mention: Savon Myers, Manchester; D’Maari Brown, Manchester; Jamari Smith, Barnegat; JoJo Bivins, Barnegat; Troy Buxton, Lacey; Alex Jenkoski, Brick

Class C North Player of the Week

Dahkario Pritchett, Jackson Liberty

Since dropping a competitive road game at St. Rose, Jackson Liberty has responded with three straight wins, including two last week. Pritchett came up big in each of the three wins, which included a 20-point outing in a win at Shore Regional on Tuesday. Pritchett then put up 14 points in Jackson Liberty’s win over Monmouth Regional – a team the Lions are scheduled to see two more times in 2022.

Class C Central Honorable Mention: Matt Solomon, Manasquan; Luke Farrell, St. Rose; Phanique Dupree, Jackson Liberty; Zyier Dean, Ocean; Ryan Frauenheim, Manasquan; Matt Lee, Point Boro; Darius Adams, Manasquan; Shane Ryan, Point Boro

Wild Cards

Gabe Blackwell, Manalapan

Manalapan went 2-1 at the Husky Holiday Classic last week and Blackwell had huge games in each win. First, the senior went off for a career-high 33 points in a win over Old Bridge. After posting 11 points in a loss to top seed and eventual tournament champion Seton Hall Prep, Blackwell bounced back with 20 points to help lead his team to a win over Holmdel, giving the Braves a third-place finish in the tournament.

Gioacchino Panzini, Red Bank Catholic

Red Bank Catholic earned its way into a game against No. 1 Marlboro in the WOBM Christmas Classic and Panzini was a major spark for the Caseys in getting to the championship game. The 6-foot-5 sophomore put up 16 points to lead his team to a hard-fought win over Jackson Memorial in the quarterfinals, then poured in a game-high 22 points in a semifinal win over St. John Vianney – including 11 points in a big fourth quarter for RBC.

Nick Seeloch, Holmdel

Although Holmdel went 1-2 at the Husky Classic, the young Hornets played three quality teams and went to the wire with a strong Union squad before losing in the semifinal round. Seeloch showed up for the tournament, scoring 19 points in the opening-round win over Hamilton West, followed by a career-high 26 in the loss to Union. Seeloch finished off his week with 10 points in a loss to Manalapan.
