Seaside Heights is continually trying to distance itself from its "Jersey Shore" reputation, and plenty of other towns up and down the shore have shot down MTV when the production crew came calling.

NJ.com has the full list of towns that have told "Jersey Shore" to stay away, and it includes Brick, Wildwood, Pelican Island, Point Pleasant Beach, Toms River, and Hoboken.

Now adding themselves to the list? Lavallette has turned down MTV's request to film the latest season there. Residents complained during a town meeting, and the town council blocked the film crew from their town.

I admit I'm kind of surprised, because the money that comes into a town when a film crew comes is usually pretty good, so I wouldn't expect so many towns to turn it down. Still, I stand behind all those towns who don't want to be associated with trash like MTV.
