AC Moore Closes Doors At Jersey Shore
A.C. Moore has announced they will be closing all of their stores, including those right here at the Jersey Shore in Brick, Asbury Park, and Wall.
In a press release, the company said
Plans for closing specific A.C. Moore locations will be shared in the upcoming weeks on our website. While we will stop accepting further online orders as of today, we will ship any previously placed orders in the ordinary course.
As part of the closings, the leases on up to 40 buildings will be turned over to The Michaels Companies, which means a few dozen AC Moores could become Michaels. There are already two Michaels in Ocean County, in Brick and Toms River. There are a few in Monmouth County as well, so it seems unlikely that Michaels would open a second location in Brick, and Wall and Asbury Park may be too close to other current Michaels' locations.
That seems to indicate that the closed AC Moore buildings would be up for grabs, and we'll definitely let you know as soon as we hear more.
