The 2018 Polar Bear Plunge is underway at Seaside Heights
SEASIDE HEIGHTS — Thousands are expected this afternoon for the annual Polar Bear Plunge for charity. And we want to see your pics!
Last year about 7,000 swimmers took to the icy waters to help raise more than $1.9 million for Special Olympics NJ — a record haul.
The weather forecast for today calls for a high of 50 degrees and some rain. Water temperature this time of year is usually a few degrees above freezing.
And that's why they call it "freezin' for a reason!"
The plunge is set for 1 p.m. Here's a guide with everything you need to know about the event.
