What *DOES* it take to be number one? As a wise man once said...two is not a winner. And three? Three nobody remembers. Being "Number One" of all time in ANYTHING is something not to take lightly in today's society and the responsibility of determining such is one to take seriously. Yet recently, Men's Health took that responsibility and spit in its face.

I believed in Santa Claus for a very long time. Not "18 years old, probablevirgin" long, but I was around 11 years old when I finally accepted the harsh reality. Admittedly, my belief was rekindled at around age 23, when I started realizing the dichotomy between how much parents made and how much I used to recieve. However, this blog is not about *MY* personal belief in Santa. Its about the growing movement to hasten him out of children's lives. A movement I will never support.

Even if you live under a rock (its time to stop disrespecting our below surface dwelling brethren), you know this Friday was BLACK FRIDAY!!! What you also know is that this year, many major stores technically opened Thanksgiving Night (no one considers midnight the start of the next morning. So stop condescendingly correcting people to that end.) What you may not know is that on Thanksgiving Night 2011, a big piece of me died.

Every year around this time, families gather together from far and wide to join hands at the table and give thanks for all of the good things in their lives. Its beautiful, its time-honored, and it makes me sick. I'm not saying there's NOTHING I'm thankful for (I'm a big fan of WWE Classics On Demand!), but there are FAR more things I'm not thankful for. It made me sad because there are very few quotes in this world that inspire me to do anything but get angry. In fact, most of the world's most popular "yearbook quotes" drive me up a wall.
