Benson Henderson Decisions Frankie Edgar

loading...

The split decision was not without controversy in a fight that seemed destined to go the distance. Henderson landed the most significant strikes throughout the bout with repeated leg kicks that sent Edgar reeling, but the former champ began catching Henderson’s lead leg and returning the favor with leg kicks and takedowns of his own. It was Edgar who attempted to finish the fight with front chokes and guillotines, in addition to landing more punches. One judge scored it 49-46 in favor of Frankie Edgar; the other two called it 48-47 Henderson. Poor Edgar.
