Hurricane Sandy hit 2 years ago yesterday, but today is the day when we realized exactly how much devastation took place.

As soon as the sun came up on that Tuesday morning, we got the first look at what Hurricane Sandy did to us, and the realization of the long road ahead that we were facing.

Despite the vast amount of destruction up and down the Jersey Shore, one thing was certain, that we would all come together and help each out. And that was EXACTLY what happened. People who barely knew who their neighbors were, came together to clean up entire neighborhoods

The amount of donation drop off points were incredible. Clothes, food, blankets, etc were piles to the ceiling at Toms River High Schools. The restaurants that opened up their kitchens to feed the first responders and the thousands of people for free who have lost their homes. It was very sobering

A big thanks to Mike Schwartz, Jen Barna, and all of our friends from Hometown Heroes for the work they have done over the last 2 years. They have been a big part of helping out our community BEFORE Hurricane Sandy, but immediately after October 29th 2012, Hurricane Sandy became their primary focus.

Working tirelessly around the clock 365 days a year, they have helped THOUSANDS of families get back in their homes, and helped put their lives back together.

A heartfelt thank you to Hometown Heroes for all you have done and continue to do!!

We have come a long way in the last two years. But we are still rebuilding. Still hoping to get ALL of the families back into their homes.

Restore the Shore!
