He was a shocking figure to be sure, and yesterday marked the anniversary of his arrest in New Haven on December 9, 1967 for taunting a cop who had maced him before the show.

In advance of the Oct. 23 release of the 'Live at the Bowl '68,' a clip of the the Doors performing 'Moonlight Drive' has been uploaded to YouTube. The three-minute-plus long video (seen below) shows off the high quality of the 20-song set, remastered for this special DVD and Blu-ray. Even songs thought lost to technical troubles have been restored to give fans the complete concert.

Every now and then when I hear a song, I sometimes think how I would love to use that song as entrance music if I was baseball player or a professional wrestler.

It's been a wet few days around here, and it got me thinking about my favorite "rain" songs. It was hard to narrow down to just five, some good songs didn't make the cut.

Ray Manzarek, legendary co-founder of The Doors, and keyboardist, songwriter, filmmaker, producer and writer, turns 73 this weekend. Ray was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 12, 1939 and was raised on the Southside of the city.

Jim Morrison would have turned 68 years old today.  Born on December 8, 1943 in Melbourne, Florida, he was the son of a Naval Officer and therefore moved around a lot as a child, experiencing life as a "military brat".

Now that I have your attention, let me first say happy birthday to drummer John Densmore, who turns 67 today, born December 1st, 1944, in L.A.

The Doors showed up on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and busted out their favorite '80s educational show theme song.
