Want to impress your beloved or your Valentine this Feb. 14 with a personalized message from Ringo Starr? Well, you have the chance. The former Beatle has kicked off his ‘Wonderful Valentine’ campaign on Facebook. We love it when a classic rock legend embraces technology and the digital space.

Fans can visit the contest tab on Facebook and tell friends they think they are ‘Wonderful.’ Aw, how sweet, right? The contest obviously ties in with Starr’s new song ‘Wonderful.’ Fans are encouraged to enter to win a personalized message the former Beatles drummer and share it with that special someone on Valentine’s Day!

Starr wants ‘Wonderful’ from his new album ‘Ringo 2012′ to be a Valentine’s Day anthem, having said, “I hope this will be my big Valentine’s Day song. I see a whole ad campaign – ‘Roses and Ringo’ – because women love both and don’t forget it.”

He also shared the origins of the song, saying, “‘Wonderful’ began when I had this track I liked. Then I heard Gary Nicholson — a great writer — was doing some work in the Valley. Gary and I wrote ‘Peace Dream’ on the last album, and that was from another line he had.”

He continued, “Gary told me he heard two people he didn’t know talking and one said, ‘The worst it ever was was wonderful.’ That sort of stuff is a songwriter’s dream. So we took that and wrote this song about me and Barbara. ‘Wonderful’ is dedicated to her because she is wonderful. We all have bad days, but as long as I’m with her, it’s wonderful.” Barbara refers to Starr’s wife, former Bond girl and actress Barbara Bach.

So have you entered to win a Ringo greeting yet?
