Richie Sambora to Perform a Song at Drug Awareness Event in Toms River

"Can we Talk...Are you Listening?' is an event presented by the Ocean County Prosecutors Office for parents, guardians, and students on May 27th from 5-9p at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.

The event is being put together "to gain a working knowledge of the signs and symptoms of drug use and abuse, to understand the drug problem in Ocean County, and to learn to create an open dialogue with children and teens about drug abuse and it's consequences"

Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora will be performing a song for the event. He was inspired to write a new song after attending a previous drug forum in Ocean County.

"He felt the first thing he needed to do was make people aware of the people that were dying," says spokesman Al Della Fave.
