If you're a beach bum or a boater like me, we are probably in agreement that we hate Jellyfish.

I always ask myself...What is the purpose of these things? They are quite the nuisance each summer once the water starts warming up

Whether you are in the Atlantic Ocean or hanging out in the bay, we are always keeping our eyes open for the little bastards. Their sting can sometimes create quite a punch.

Carrie from Jenkinson's Aquarium in Point Pleasant Beach gave a little lesson today about Jellyfish.

She taught us how they sting you. She also taught us that the most dangerous Jellyfish is called the "Box" Jellyfish, and their sting is the most powerful out of all Jellyfish. They can be mainly found around Australia so we don't really have to worry about them.

And the most important thing that I learned from watching the twelve-minute video is that if you get stung by a Jellyfish, peeing on the area that was stung is not going to help at all. As a matter of fact, it can make it worse. The best remedy is for the affected area is cold bay or ocean water and white vinegar.

There you go...It's all about the education, and while you still might hate Jellyfish, you'll at least know a little more about them, and you'll sound really smart explaining them to your friends and family this summer
