New Mexico Man Told His Winning Lottery Ticket Was a ‘Misprint’ [Video]
Imagine thinking that you won big bucks on a scratch-off lottery ticket, only to be told that you didn't win a thing.
That's what happened to a Roswell, N.M., man recently.
After scratching off his Ruby 7s lotto ticket that he bought at a gas station, John Wines was under the impression that he won $500,000.
The problem? The maximum that the ticket paid out was $250,000.
So, what was the issue?
After getting in touch with someone at the New Mexico Lottery, Wines was told that his ticket was not actually a winner, but a misprint. There were supposed to be other numbers printed on the ticket, KOB-TV reported.
The New Mexico Lottery instead offered Wines $100 in lottery tickets as a consolation prize.
Do you think Wines should get the $500,000?
