New Jersey has a bad reputation when it comes to our air quality. We've all heard the jokes about the smell, we've all seen the smokestacks around the turnpike in Newark, but according to this real-time map from Berkeley Earth, things aren't that bad.

You can move the map around to different locations, and zoom in or out too.

Based on their data, it actually looks like most of the US is in pretty good shape. There are a few pockets of yellow meaning "moderately" bad air quality...but it's nothing compared to the situation around the Persian Gulf and almost all of China and India.
