Seaside Heights, NJ Carousel Opening Date

Carousel Pavillion in Seaside Heights really is something awesome to look at when you're visiting the Shore.

For a while, it was located inside the arcade of Casino Pier, until it was disassembled a few years ago and sent off to Ohio to be fully restored.

Since then the pieces of the famous carousel have returned to Jersey, they've been meticulously restored to their former glory and now we're just waiting for the carousel to be open once again in Seaside Heights.

The Seaside Heights, NJ Carousel Pavillion Grand Opening Was Again Delayed

Back in May of this year, I wrote about the carousel and how it was announced that it would be open and operating by July 25th, 2023.

Sadly, July 25th came and went and the carousel did not open.

Then it was announced that the new date for a grand opening would be December 9th during the Seaside Heights tree lighting, which would have been amazing.

However, December 9th came and went, according to APP, and Carousel Pavillion was once again not running.

The pavilion itself was open so onlookers could get a first-hand look at the carousel but it wasn't up and running.

There's A New Timeline For The Opening Of The Carousel In Seaside Heights, NJ

According to APP, Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz said the Carousel will be open this upcoming Spring.

The reason for all of the delay is that Jersey is one of the few states in the country that require carnival rides, such as carousels, to be inspected before being ridden by the general public.

APP reports that in addition to the inspection still being needed the carousel still needs its railings installed, and those parts are yet to be delivered.

That being said, every time I jog down the boardwalk and pass Carousel Pavilion in Seaside, there are always people working to restore it.
