What NASA Thinks About the End of the World on 12/21/12

We are just a few weeks away from the infamous day 12/21/2012. The day the Mayan calendar says the world will come to an end. People have been flooding Nasa asking them if 12/21/12 will be the end of the world. Here is what NASA says will happen:

The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

NASA website also adds:

Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then -- just as your calendar begins again on January 1 -- another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

Nasa also states that the planets are NOT aligning, there will be NO total blackout, and there is NO threat of a collision between Earth and a another planet.
