August 15, 1969: The original Woodstock Festival officially kicks off.

The Summer of Love Concert focuses on iconic rock music from the period of time between the 1967 release of The Beatles revolutionary album Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and the famous Woodstock Festival in 1969. August 15, 1969. The Woodstock Music and Art Fair begins. Max Yasgur agrees to allow a lot of sweaty and rebellious but really nice young men and women to have a big party on his 600 acre farm in Bethel, New York.
