The National Weather Service has completed their investigation and released preliminary findings of a Tornado event that occurred in this Ocean County community along Route 35.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm that caused so much damage in Toms River was NOT caused by a tornado, but from "straight-line winds" associated with a strong cold front moving rapidly East.
Wind gusts were reported at 60-80 mph...
