They shared the news during a Las Vegas club show full of deep cuts and a full-album performance of 'Dookie.'

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman destroyed his health, relationships and almost his life while creating the 1993 album.

The 1993 single marked the first mainstream hit for Billy Corgan's band.

Eclectic lineup also featured Sheryl Crow, Nile Rodgers, Duran Duran and an appearance by Sammy Hagar.

"When it's all said and done, I want the Pumpkins standing on the top of the heap of our generation," bandleader said.

The FBI even had to get involved.
