Negotiations between Toms River Township and the Silverton First Aid Squad are at a standstill with the administration dispatching their ambulances instead of their's as of January 1, 2019.

There's a battle brewing between Silverton EMS and Toms River Township after Mayor Tom Kelaher sent a letter to residents in the Silverton section telling them that their first aid squad will change in 2019.

Toms River authorities are tracing the source of a home fire on George Road April 12 that began in the kitchen.

A Toms River man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a man in the chest in the Silverton section of the township on Thursday February 8.

Details have only begun to emerge about a reported shooting in the Silverton section of Toms River Township between Thursday night and Friday morning.
