Shore was within a shot of pushing its championship hopes over the top, but came up short Monday in a 43-39 loss to Eagle Academy in the Central Group I final.

Shore has won 11 of 12 games and now heads to Newark to face Eagle Academy in hopes of capturing its first Central Jersey Group I title since 2015.

Shore turned to its defense Friday against Point Beach to earn a trip to its first NJSIAA Central Group I final since 2015.

Class C South will be the Shore's eighth division this season and, perhaps, its most wide-open division as well.

With a young, inexperienced roster, Shore hung tough against some rugged competition early in 2022 and is now one win from its first sectional title in eight years.

Despite graduating many of its top players, Shore still plans on regrouping to contend for the Patriot Division title.

After getting blown out on opening day by the No. 1 team in the preseason Shore rankings, Shore Regional bounced back and upset that same Red Bank Catholic team three days later.

Three days after losing 23-0 to Red Bank Catholic, Shore Regional shocked the No. 1 Caseys in the rematch for one of the greatest upsets ever in Shore Conference baseball.

Red Bank Catholic and Rumson-Fair Haven ratcheted up their rivalry in 2021 and are set to carry the competition into 2022 as two of the best in the Shore Conference.
