At the halfway point of the 2021-22 season, the playoffs aren’t happening and things appear to be in shambles on and off the ice. So what happens in the final 41 games? What makes them noteworthy? Here are three questions that are facing the Flyers going forward for the remainder of the season.
To lose 10 games in a row in a season is really not as uncommon as it may seem. It’s actually happened four times already this season. Of course, two of those happen to be streaks belonging to the Flyers, the latest an ongoing streak that reached double-digits with Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Columbus.
With making the playoffs seeming very unlikely at this point, will Flyers captain Clause Giroux finally think about parting ways with the only team he has ever played for?
Anytime a social media post gets taken down if it’s not noticed, no harm no foul. But if it is noticed then the speculation as to “why”, begins. If it’s a business that makes an announcement, then that post disappears the curiosity grows even larger. That’s what happened this week, on the Facebook page of Ocean Ice Palace in Brick.
The Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled their new mascot earlier today!
His name is Gritty, and according to the Flyers:
Gritty is a "seven-foot, orange, fuzzy creature, who will take an active role in embracing the Flyers community outreach initiatives in the Greater Philadelphia Region
