The DEA New Jersey Division said that the last Take Back Day, in October 2021, more than 14,000 pounds of unused or unwanted prescription drugs were collected.
There will extra focus Saturday on the need for New Jersey residents to clear their medicine cabinets of unused, unwanted or expired prescription medications.
"Somebody, if they were looking for meth, they wouldn't have a difficult time finding somebody to get it from," said Timothy McMahon, special agent with the DEA's New Jersey Division.
