The winners have been announced and the awards given out at the 84th Academy Awards. Even if you don't follow these things closely, you more than likely have a general idea of at least some pictures that were nominated as well as those that actually took home The Oscar statuette.

Brett Ratner, who was set to produce the 2012 Academy Awards has "resigned" after controversy about his use of a homophobic slur. Add him to a growing list of celebrities who just don't know what to say.

Eddie Murphy's career has been through a lot of up and downs (although the highs are among the highest in the history of Hollywood). Right now he is probably as big as he's been in over a decade with a new movie, Tower Heist, coming out as well as hosting the 2012 Academy Awards.
