I took a ride to Seaside Heights this morning to see how they are preparing for Hurricane Joaquin this weekend. The town isn't taking any chances. Preparations have already begun.

On the North side of Casino Pier, workers are building temporary dunes to hopefully protect the boardwalk from a storm surge. However, there are no dunes yet south of Casino Pier. Hopefully that will change.

As I type this, there is still a lot of uncertainty of where the storm is going to make landfall, and there is still a possibility that it will push out to sea.

Right now Joaquin is in the Bahamas and is a category 3 hurricane with 125 mph winds

Here are the dunes already in place for the upcoming storm
