The weather has been nice of late but the surf has not and that sent Seaside Heights, Seaside Park and Lavalette scuba teams into the ocean on Monday night around 6:53 pm for a swimmer in distress.

The 35-year old man from Lincoln Avenue in Seaside Heights was caught in a rip current about 250-yards from the shoreline at the Dupont Avenue beach, according to SSH Detective Steve Korman.

Seaside Heights, Seaside Park and Lavalette Scuba Teams arrived at the scene and the Seaside Heights Scuba Team deployed two members into the water on a jet ski with a sled.

They brought the victim back to the shoreline to safety.

He was evaluated by members of Tri-Boro First Aid Squad and declined any further medical treatment.
