Townsquare Media and Integrity Builders are teaming up to salute our local heroes with our Warrior of the Week program.

Congratulations to Monmouth Beach's Matthew Murphy, our Warrior of the Week for the week of January 20th, 2020.

According to Matthew's nominator:

SPC Matthew Murphy enlisted in the United States Army on August 1, 2017. He did basic training (boot camp) at Ft. Jackson, SC and graduated October 13, 2017. While in basic training he was patrol leader and in charge of his unit. After he graduated he did AIT (advanced individual training) at Ft. Eustis, VA. He is MOS (job) was to be an Apache Helicopter Mechanic. He graduated Ft. Eustis, VA in April 2018. His first duty station was in South Korea where he was stationed for 13 months. In the last six months that he was stationed in South Korea, he had flown back to the states to Ft. Bragg, NC where he did a special training for ten days for Psychological Operations Selection. He graduated with top grades. He then flew back to South Korea (on his 21st birthday). April 2019, he flew from South Korea to Ft. Benning, GA where he did Airborne school. At the end of April 2019, he graduated and then flew back to South Korea to finish up at his duty station. He came back home in the middle of June 2019 and was home with us for about 3 weeks. He is currently stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC where he will train for PSYOPS.
