A brawl outside of a home in Atlantic City early Wednesday morning resulted in two people being stabbed, a dog being fatally stabbed, and four people being arrested.

Atlantic City Police say the scene unfolded around 4:15 AM along Trenton Terrace.

Arriving officers found two people, 33-year-old Joseph Dixon of Atlantic City and 21-year-old Deontay Mickey-Evans of Willingboro, bleeding from stab wounds. Dixon was also tending to a dog who was also bleeding heavily from apparent stab wounds.

Officers quickly learned that the altercation began on the street between Dixon, Mickey-Evans and a third individual, Angel Hernandez-Contreras. The altercation quickly escalated when Angel Hernandez-Contreras threatened Dixon, Mickey-Evans and a female, Jordan Banner, with a knife. It was determined that Banner then retrieved her canine from inside her residence while Dixon retrieved a hammer, to thwart the knife attack.

Police say the ensuing physical altercation resulted in Dixon and Mickey-Evans being stabbed by Hernandez-Contreras and, during the fight, Hernandez-Contreras stabbed the dog, which died.
