These are the Most Popular Dog Names in New Jersey
As the parents of fur babies, one of the most important decisions you'll have to make is what you'll be naming them.
You want to decide on a name that matches the pup's personality.
It used to be that you'd try to think of a cute name like Buttons or Patches, or Scruffy. Nothing wrong with those names. They're very traditional.
Then, someone came up with the idea of using ironic names for small dogs. Names like Spike, or Hercules, or Killer for tiny dogs.
Or small dog names for big dogs.
These days, many name their pups human names. In my home, we had Calvin and Clifford, and now we have Franklin and Rocky.
I thought it might be fun to see what the most popular dog names are.
According to the web site Newsnationnow.com the most popular dog name in the country is Luna. Luna was the top name in 35 states. The other popular names nationally were Bella, Daisey and Cooper.
So what were the popular names in the other states? In the District of Columbia, Charlie was the most popular name and Hawaii had a decidedly regional sound with Kona.
Here in New Jersey, the most popular names are Luna, Bella and Bailey. I'm kind of surprised Bruce or maybe Jovi or something like that didn't make the list. To the west, our friends in Pennsylvania Luna, Bella and Cooper. While in New York, the most popular names are the same as Jersey. Really?
How can this be?
Seems a little vanilla to me. But the numbers were gathered by the company called Bark. They are the company that does subscription dog toys, and they claim the results were culled from 10 years, and 3.2 million dogs. Who am I to argue?
