Teterboro - It's a fun name to say, but there i no mystery to it. It's named after a man named Teter (Walter C. Teter, according to Only In Your State), so a borough named after a man named Teter is going to be called Teterboro.

Hackensack - the origin of this great town's name comes from the Achkinheshcky Indian Tribe, and it means "Mouth of a River". Simple, and beautiful.

Egg Harbor - It couldn't be as simple as Egg Harbor being named after eggs, could it? According to the township website, that is exactly how the name came about. The explorer Cornelius Jacobsen Mey found egg shells on the inlet and called the area " Eyren Haven", better known as Egg Harbor.

Cherry Hill. It turns out that if it wasn't for some mailing issues, Cheery Hill might be known as Delaware. It's been Cherry Hill (named after a farm from the 1800s) since the early 1960s.
