1 Dead Following 2017 Point Pleasant Beach Grand Prix Accident

A fun day quickly turned somber as a reportedly fatal accident occurred during an opening event of the 2017 Point Pleasant Beach Grand Prix.

Townsquare Media contributor Ray Taylor captured the fast response carried out by the New Jersey State Police, which included a medevac operation on the grounds of Point Pleasant Beach High School.

Sadly, the response was not enough for at least one rider as a fatality was reported by News 12 New Jersey.  Two others were injured and a fourth seems to have walked away from the accident unscathed according to eye-witnesses.

News 12 New Jersey reports that the accident took place near Bay Head, though the specific boats and riders involved have not yet been named.
