This is an incredible time of year if you are a Sports fan.  Baseball is officially underway. We have Basketball, Hockey, and even Soccer going on now. You want more? How about Monmouth Park Racetrack opens this weekend. We currently have 3 local teams in the playoffs. And of course the NY Giants just won the Superbowl a few months ago.

Check out what all our other teams are doing

How bout all the excitement with the New York Rangers. Did you watch that game last night? They were losing to the Washington Capitals 2-1 when Brad Richards ties the game with 6 seconds to go in the 3rd period sending the game into "sudden-death" overtime where Marc Staal wins the game 2 minutes into the start of overtime with a laser beam of a goal from just inside the blue line. The Rangers now take a 3 games to 2 lead in the series.

The New Jersey Devils are just one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals with 1 more win over the hapless Philadelphia Flyers. They are up 3 games to one on the Flyers, and pretty much everyone in the sports world expected the Flyers to dominate

What makes this even more exciting is that just last week, the Devils looked like they had no chance  getting out of the first round past the Florida Panthers.  They certainly picked up their game and put the Panthers in their place

Could we see a Rangers vs Devils Eastern Conference finals? That would be awesome!

We have to add the New York Knicks to the mix. After all they are in the playoffs. Granted. Barring a miracle, there is no way they are going to beat the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs. They did beat the Heat on Sunday 89-87 to at least win 1. They are down 3 games to 1 with the series heading back to Miami. But it is possible. Crazier things have happened. It IS sports after all.

Let's add the New York Mets to the mix. Sure why not! They are 3 games OVER .500. Nobody expected them to compete at all this year. Plus, while the NY Rangers tied their hockey game last night with 6 seconds to go vs the Washington Capitals, just 10 seconds later, a kid named Jordany Valdespin had his first major league hit which was a 3-run home run in the 9th off of Jonathan Papelbon to beat the Phillies 5-2.

It doesn't get much better than all that right?
