Shawn and I want your family and kids to stay healthy.  Ocean County is in the midst of an outbreak of pertussis, or “whooping cough,” according to a news release issued this past Friday from the county health department.

Pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by Bordetella pertussis bacteria and causes a series of coughing fits that last for weeks, according to the news release.

Though considered a children’s disease, it can affect adults too, according to Ocean County health Department officials.

Keeping your family healthy this winter…Shawn & Sue!
