If you read my blogs on a regular basis, and if you have checked out my Facebook page, you have a pretty good idea that I am a big supporter and fan of the Jersey Shore. More importantly, you know how much I love Seaside Heights.

I love the energy of it. The bars, shops, locals, etc. Everything about it. And I will defend Seaside Heights when it's needed, and continue to show my love for the town.

However.....I think they dropped the ball on this one......AGAIN!!

I was out on the water last night watching the fireworks from a friend's boat near the Seaside Heights Bridge where we were able to see fireworks pretty much in any direction we looked. In one direction, we could see the Beachwood fireworks. Look a little further north and you can see some of the fireworks from Point Pleasant, and all along the coast you can see fireworks from people's houses or what could have been town sponsored fireworks. It really was an awesome site.

But something was noticeably missing....fireworks from Seaside Heights.

Now I know Seaside Heights said they were moving up the fireworks from 9:30PM, to 9:00PM due to the rain that did eventually arrive, but come 9pm, we were all keeping our eyes on the skies above Seaside Heights, and nothing.

We started checking online at 9:05 to see if the fireworks were postponed due to the rain, or that it was too windy, but we didn't see anything posted at all.

Eventually some Facebook posts started appearing saying that Seaside only did some "test" launches, and that was it. Others said they started the fireworks display at 8:43, and it only lasted 7 minutes.

I really don't know for sure what happened. Maybe the fireworks went off as planned and was really short, (and that would be pretty terrible since it WAS 4th of July), but the consensus that I was getting is that there were a lot of disappointed people ONCE AGAIN this year.

Last year, the fireworks did not happen on July 4th due to a rogue wave that came on shore, and wiped them out on the beach. The following night when the fireworks were rescheduled, they didn't happen again due to high winds.

Come on Seaside! A lot of people spend a lot of money in your town during the summer. They pack the boardwalk on 4th of July. Parking costs anywhere from $20-$40 bucks. It's not fair to the people that you rely on. You have to do better than this Seaside Heights.

Beachwood had an amazing fireworks display last night. Everywhere you looked, the skies were filled with fireworks last night.

Sure, there was a little drizzle between 8:30 and 9:30, but no one else seemed to have a problem. Where were yours?

This is two years in a row that seems to have been a waste of time for people who went out of their way to come to your town for the fireworks.

I know things happen. Nothing is perfect, but in my opinion Seaside Heights, you dropped the ball.  Like I said earlier, I will defend Seaside Heights all day long, but this one seems a little tough.

What do you think? Were you in Seaside last night? Did you see fireworks?  What is the story?
