The guy passed out in his car while it was on fire is one lucky man.

As reported at thefw.com, this video captures two sheriff’s deputies in Okaloosa County, Florida saving a passed-out driver from his burning car in the early hours of Christmas morning last December.

The 45-year-old driver was reportedly intoxicated and the doors were locked, prompting Joseph Trimboli and Eric Keyes to break the glass and pull him to safety.

The man went to the hospital where he was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

From nydailynews.com:

Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley awarded Trimboli and Keyes with medals of merit in a ceremony on Thursday. But the two deputies told the Northwest Florida Daily News that the rescue was all in a day’s work.

“I don’t do it for the publicity,” Trimboli said. “It was just something that we knew we had to do.”

With all the horrendous daily images we see of man's inhumanity to man (and animals), these kinds of rescues remind me of all the good that also exists in the world. :-)
