Varacchi’s Rock Hall Ballot

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for the Class of 2017.

Okay, you can ONLY VOTE FOR FIVE, so here's my list:

Pearl Jam - clearly, a slam-dunk inductee into the Hall.

Jane's Addiction - a small discography, but the influence is indisputable.

Depeche Mode - I might lose some of my classic rock cred, but I do have an affinity for the electronic stuff. I know Kraftwerk should probably get in ahead of Depeche Mode, but in terms of personal taste, I lean towards DM.

Joan Baez - A true counter-culture icon, deserves to be in the Hall.

I ran into a big problem picking my 5th...Bad Brains need to make it, MC5 should, the Cars & the Zombies both deserve it, it's incredibly hard to keep out ELO and Yes...but in the end, my final vote goes to Journey. Hits aplenty, mainstream success, lasting legacy.
