“Thank you for allowing us to help you raise attention and money for the rebuilding of Sea Bright,” said Pat Monahan, the band's lead singer, surrounded by firefighters and National Guardsman according to the Asbury Park Press.

Monahan also flew in Grammy-nominated local singer Linda Chorney at his expense according to the Hollywood Reporter, which reports that Chorney's Sea Bright home was destroyed by Sandy.

Train, with Chorney joining the band for the night, played all of the band's hits. They changed the name of "Meet Virginia" to "Meet Dina" in honor of Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long. “I want to say how impressed I am with (Long); I hung out with her all day,” said Monahan according to the Asbury Park Press.

Monahan was moved by a video put together by Train fan and Sea Bright resident Charlotte Nagy showing the impact of superstorm Sandy on Sea Bright, Rumson and Long Branch with dramatic before-and-after footage. “When disaster turns a community upside down, like Sandy did to Sea Bright, you really want to help but are often unsure how,” Monahan told the Hollywood Reporter. "We hope that by doing this show, we can bring attention to the town of Sea Bright and encourage donations to SeaBrightRising.org. If it can positively affect this community in any way, we will consider it successful."

Nagy was very happy her favorite band pitched into help in such a big way. “It’s really incredible, it means the world to me,” Nagy told the Asbury Park Press. “They reached out and wanted to help — they’re such great and incredible people. Pat (Monahan) wrote on his personal blog a note asking what he could do to help. That meant so much to me.”

The performance was taped by VH1 and will be shown as a special around Christmas.
