Top5 Movie Presidents
Happy Presidents' Day! Here are my favorite Hollywood Presidents, who would you vote for?
President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho (Idiocracy)
Terry Crews plays a pornstar / pro-wrestler turned President in Mike Judge's “Idiocracy”. The rest of the movie has its ups and downs, but Crews' performance as the leader of a dumbed-down society was solid and funny.
President Merkin Muffley (Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb)
“It's great to be fine”. A truly brilliant performance by Peter Sellers, who actually played three characters in the epic “Dr. Strangelove”. Each character is fun in their own way, but Sellers plays the president in such wonderfully straight deadpan way.
President George W. Bush (W.)
The only non-fictional president to make the list. This isn't the forum to discuss my political leanings one way or the other, but Josh Brolin NAILS the role of George W. Bush. Regardless of your political affiliation, this is worth watching.
President Thomas J. Whitmore (Independence Day)
After seeing this speech the first time, I damn near ran out of my house to the nearest recruitment center to enlist. Yeah, it comes close to being cheesy, but I'll admit I got amped up just watching it while making this list.
President James Marshall (Air Force One)
Harrison Ford claims the top-spot as a President fighting to take back control of his plane. Gary Oldman is an amazing villain, and there are few that could take him on like Ford did.
