5 - STEVIE RAY VAUGHN

SRV could pull off the sort of licks that make your nose crinkle up. There's just a certain nastiness to his style that is so beautiful. His riffs might not make you stand up and cheer, but they will hit you in the gut and pull some real emotion out.

4 - EDDIE VAN HALEN

I will admit I don't understand most guitar technique. I have a vague concept of "tapping", "pull offs", "hammer ons" and the like. Despite that, I know that Eddie could shred the hell out of any song, but did it with amazing precision.

3 - ERIC CLAPTON

"Clapton Is God" was a saying for a reason. Look at this body of work: The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos, over 20 solo albums, guest spots with the likes of The Beatles, Dire Straits, Frank Zappa, Stephen Stills and tons more.

There was a time when feedback was undesirable. Hendrix stepped up and said "nah, listen to this" then proceeded to tear everything down and rebuild it himself.
