Two students have been injured in a school bus accident in Toms River The bus carrying students from the Toms River Intermediate School rear-ended a 2004 Pontiac on Old Freehold Road at  Imperato Court just before 2 p.m. according to Toms River Police.

Two students on the bus were taken to Community Medical Center for minor injuries as was the driver of the Pontiac and two passengers. Old Freehold Road was closed for a time but has since been reopened.

Alternate transportation was being arranged by school officials for 18 other students who were also on the bus.

Toms River Police continue to investigate the accident.
