Toms River officials announced a change in their recycling rules and regulations.

Due to a significant increase in disposal fees of electronics, Toms River is no longer able to accept TVs and electronics from our residents. In order to avoid this cost, effective October 1, 2016, the Department of Public Works is no longer accepting electronic waste such as televisions, computers and copiers at the Recycling Convenience Center on Church Road."

Toms River residents who want to recycle the items will have to take them to the Ocean County Recycling Center at 601 New Hampshire Avenue in Lakewood, which will accept the TVs, computers, and other electronics free of charge.
