This past winter has certainly taken a toll on our roads. It seems like there are potholes everywhere. I don't remember it being this bad in years past.

It must be bad if the Public Works Department is asking for our help.

Lou Amoruso, Director of Public Works, says over 200 potholes have already been filled since January, and also asking residents to help in the effort to fill dangerous potholes, by calling the Department of Public Works at (732) 255-1000 ext. 8140, to report a pothole.

Toms River Patch is saying if the potholes are on Route 70, Route 37, Route 35 or Route 9, those should be reported to the state. Click here for the state pothole complaint form. Potholes on any other Ocean County roads besides Toms River can be reported by calling 732-929-2133
