AASKI Technology, Inc. in Tinton Falls has been honored by the Department of Labor with the HIRE Vets Medallion for its work in hiring military veterans, announced 4th District Republican Congressman Chris Smith.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Program Demonstration award is given to employers who show a commitment to hiring military veterans and helping them with career development.

Smith says AASKI was one of only six employers in New Jersey in 2018 to receive a medallion under the program.

According to the Department of Labor, the award was given to AASKI based on a range of criteria including veteran hiring and retention, availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programming for veterans, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.

“Congratulations to AASKI Technology for the exemplary work they have done supporting the service men and women who have served our country, helping them transition into civilian life,” Representative Smith, who voted for the legislation—the 2017 Consolidated Appropriations Act—that created the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans (HIRE Vets) program, said.

“Many of our veterans face unique challenges when they transition into a civilian career, and we need businesses which will not only hire them, but guide them along their career path and help them advance in the civilian workforce,” Smith said. “AASKI has done this, and I am glad that they are being recognized for their work.”

AASKI Technology was founded in 1997, and provides tech-based solutions for clients including the U.S. Department of Defense.
